International Calligraphers' Meeting Features Participants from BiH

The three-day International Calligraphers' Meeting, organized by IRCICA, was held in Istanbul this year, where calligraphers from several countries, including BiH, presented their works at an exhibition, writes worldbulletin.com, reports Patria agency.

Calligraphers from Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Great Britain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and the USA gathered for the first time and exchanged experiences in large numbers.

Halit Eren, president of IRCICA, stated that the goal was to bring together all calligraphers and emphasize the importance of calligraphy for the Islamic world and its role in intercultural cooperation.

Nuria Garcia Masipom, a calligrapher from Spain, perfected her knowledge in Istanbul.

- I came in 2004 and stayed for two years. Mastering calligraphy is a lifelong pursuit – said Masipom.

Incidentally, IRCICA has been organizing a calligraphers' competition every three years since 1980.
