Activists interrupt Kordić's lecture with chants of "war criminal"

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Convicted war criminal Dario Kordić held a forum last night at the "Stjepan Radić" Student Dormitory in Zagreb, and at one point four activists stormed the stage chanting "war criminal".

The activists also carried a banner reading "Dario Kordić - war criminal".

As announced before the lecture, the organizer of the lecture titled "God Behind Bars" is Don Damir Stojić.

The audience reacted to the activists' interruption, with several individuals rushing at the activists and removing them from the hall.

Threats were heard from the audience, with some stating they would deal with the activists and ensure they were taken care of, while calling on Kordić to continue his speech.

"Instead of professors, academics, and writers giving lectures, convicted war criminals are doing so, relativizing what they have done through remarks and jokes," said an activist, writes Nacional.

The activist stated that no one in the audience was willing to ask Kordić about the crimes for which he was convicted. Therefore, they mobilized to highlight this issue.

Dario Kordić was convicted, among other things, for war crimes in the village of Ahmići in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) committed crimes against humanity on April 16, 1993. It was the largest massacre in the conflict between Bosniaks and Croats.

Kordić was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), finding him command responsible for the massacre of 116 Bosniak civilians in the village of Ahmići, including 11 children - one of whom was a three-month-old baby. He was released after serving two-thirds of his sentence in an Austrian prison.

Kordić, convicted for the massacre of 116 civilians, the youngest of whom was only three months old, opposes abortion and has been seen at Željka Markić's "March for Life".
