(Patria) - The remains of at least one victim of the past war were exhumed today at the Kameničko brdo site in the Bratunac municipality. According to information available to the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is most likely a victim of Bosniak ethnicity who was killed in this area in July 1995.
After the exhumation, the remains of the victim will be transferred to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla, where they will undergo criminal-technical and forensic-medical processing, as well as the extraction of bone samples for the purpose of identifying the victim through DNA analysis.
The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in accordance with the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Today, re-exhumations of previously buried victims were also completed at the Srebrenica Memorial Center in Potočari. Over the past six days, the graves of 78 genocide victims were opened in order to complete their skeletons, i.e., to add to the bodies the remains that were found and identified after their burial.
