Around 17,000 new voters from abroad will vote in October elections

Around 17,000 new voters from abroad, who have not voted before, are expected to vote in the October elections in BiH, confirmed the Central Election Commission of BiH for the BiH news agency Patria.

By July 11, the CEC of BiH in Sarajevo had received 17,777 applications from Bosnians and Herzegovinians who applied to vote abroad in the General Elections in BiH in October this year.

However, the number of these voters is not final, given that the deadline for applications expires only on July 29 this year. Also, the CEC of BiH will not accept incomplete voter applications, so there could be fluctuations in the numbers due to this as well.

During the last elections in BiH, around 37,000 voters voted abroad.

The elections in BiH will be held on Sunday, October 12, and voters will cast ballots for the BiH Presidency, the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, the National Assembly of RS, the President and Vice-Presidents of RS, and the cantonal assemblies in the Federation of BiH. 

According to the Central Voter Register (CBS) as of May 14, there were 3,231,031 voters eligible to vote in BiH, of which 2,011,717 are in the Federation of BiH and 1,219,314 in Republika Srpska, Patria reports.
