First Section of the Regulation of the Željeznica Riverbed Successfully Completed in Ilidža

(Patria) - The Ilidža Municipality has successfully completed the first section of the regulation of the Željeznica riverbed at the entrance to the Otes local community.

The unprecedented floods of 2021 caused significant damage to the local population, as this location proved to be one of the weak points.

For this reason, cleaning and arranging the riverbed and banks of the Željeznica River became a key preventive measure to reduce the risk of future unforeseen situations.

Despite the volume of administrative work, the situation on the ground confirms that persistence on this project has paid off.

Cleaning the Željeznica riverbed is not only a proactive flood prevention measure but also an investment in environmental protection and community safety.

At the same time, this effort helps preserve nature, making Ilidža a safer and more sustainable place to live.

- The Ilidža Municipality will strive in the future to fully regulate the flow of the Željeznica River, in close cooperation with the Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Sava River Water Agency, with whose assistance and mutual cooperation the regulation of the first section of the Željeznica River flow was successfully completed.
