Successful demonstration exercise 'Readiness of Civil Protection Structures of Ilidža Municipality' held in Ilidža

(Patria) - On the occasion of the exercise "Readiness of Civil Protection Structures of Ilidža Municipality", a review of the organized Civil Protection structures of Ilidža Municipality was held in front of the Hrasnica Cultural Centre.

At the beginning of the review, the attendees were addressed by the Head and Commander of the Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, who emphasized that many activities had been carried out in the previous period, both in equipping and educating Civil Protection structures, in order to react in a timely manner in unforeseen situations.

After the review, a demonstration exercise was held at the RVI swimming pool, organized by the Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality, aimed at testing readiness and response in crisis situations. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about proper response procedures for various accident and disaster scenarios, thereby demonstrating the readiness and coordination of relevant services. The exercise involved the Civil Protection Headquarters of Ilidža Municipality, the Civil Protection Service of Ilidža Municipality, protection and rescue services, Civil Protection commissioners of Ilidža Municipality, and members of the Ilidža Police Station. Also present were Aldin Brašnjić and Dženan Brkanić, directors of the Federal and Cantonal Civil Protection Administrations.

- The Ilidža Municipality is an example of how the civil protection system should function. These exercises show that they are always ready to respond to natural and other disasters, and I truly congratulate everyone on a successfully conducted exercise - said Aldin Brašnjić, director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration.

Demonstration exercises like this are crucial for community preparedness and minimizing potential damage in emergency situations. They remind us of the importance of the role of civil protection in our communities.

- I am very satisfied because they demonstrated a high level of organization and professionalism in all the actions we saw today. I take this opportunity to commend the local community, which has shown evident progress in the protection and rescue system and has, ultimately, recognized the importance of civil protection structures themselves. In addition to implementing a large number of infrastructure projects, the Head of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, did not neglect the fact that civil protection is a very important segment – said Dženan Brkanić, director of the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration, and once again praised the successful exercise held today in Ilidža.

Rapid response, good coordination, and professionalism inspire confidence in the ability of Civil Protection teams to protect citizens in the event of a real accident or disaster.

- We attended an exercise on rescuing and evacuating people from areas affected by floods. The Civil Protection Service of Ilidža Municipality, together with municipal civil protection units, demonstrated readiness and a commendable level of organization, preparedness, and equipment when it comes to such situations. We sincerely hope that in the coming period we will not have the opportunity to demonstrate these skills we showcased today in reality, but rather that we will only show our knowledge and skills in exercises like this.
