1,450 new spruce saplings planted on Igman

(Patria) - Another afforestation campaign, during which 1,450 spruce saplings were planted, was held on Crni Vrh, on Igman.

Despite the low temperatures, more than 100 participants responded to the call and participated in this important initiative.

The campaign was organized by the Ministry of Economy of KS, in cooperation with KJP Sarajevo-šume, and was joined by representatives of cantonal ministries of communal economy, infrastructure, spatial planning, construction and environmental protection, education, science, higher education and youth, health, justice and administration, and labor, social policy, displaced persons and refugees.

Also, employees of numerous cantonal institutions participated in the afforestation, such as the Veterinary Station, the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Forestry Administration, the Institute for Construction, the KS Government Office for Diaspora, the Center for Advanced Technologies, the Cantonal Agency for Investment Promotion and Privatization, as well as the Prime Minister of KS Nihad Uk, Minister of Economy Zlatko Mijatović, assembly representatives Vildana Bešlija and Elvis Vreto...

The Ministry of Economy of KS thanked all participants for their great response and support for this campaign, and looks forward to continuing similar initiatives that further strengthen awareness of the importance of environmental protection in Sarajevo Canton.

As they emphasize, afforestation has exceptional significance for preserving ecosystems and improving air quality in KS. Each new sapling contributes to soil stabilization, erosion reduction, biodiversity conservation, and the creation of a healthier environment for all generations.

Since the beginning of the season, a total of 12,370 saplings have been planted, which indicates the commitment of all participants and institutions to preserving natural resources and protecting the environment.
