Doljani border crossing sees increased car traffic, faster crossing at Bijača

The Bijača border crossing near Ljubuški, almost a year after its grand opening, remains empty, despite being pompously announced as one of the two crossings (the other being GP Gradiška) that will allow the passage of passengers and all types of goods, including plant and animal origin, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The significance of this crossing lies in it being a control point on the southern part of Corridor Vc, and once the corridor construction is completed, it will be one of the most important crossings. It represents the shortest connection between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian coast from Ploče to Split, but even that is not a sufficient reason for increased car traffic.

Given that the tourist season has already begun and significant queues are being recorded at the Doljani border crossing, drivers are urged to also use Bijača, and road signage was installed a few days ago, which should make orientation much easier for drivers now.

The construction of Bijača cost eight million KM, and it has all the accompanying facilities, veterinary inspection, and phytosanitary inspection. This was also one of the European Union's conditions before Croatia's accession to the EU, enabling us to continue exporting goods according to those standards.

Otherwise, Bijača has three entry and three exit lanes and is the most modern border crossing in BiH, reports Patria.
