Competition in making ćetenija held in Dobrinja

A competition in making ćetenija – a traditional Bosnian and Herzegovinian delicacy – was held on the plateau of the Bosnian market in Dobrinja in the afternoon, organized by the Citizens' Association "4T" Tarevci from Modriča, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

The competing teams made ćetenija, and a large number of curious people came to this competition.

The main goal of this event is the preservation of tradition, and everything was accompanied by a cultural and artistic program. Ćetenija, which is made from sugar, water, flour, and lemon, was previously the main pastime for girls and boys, and this custom is largely forgotten today. To make ćetenija, a series of rituals must be performed, making the act of making ćetenija itself very interesting. Diplomas and awards have been provided for the winning teams.
