On this day, the war in BiH ended, but an open hunt for civilians in Aleppo also began

21 years ago, on this day, the Dayton Peace Agreement was signed, ending the aggression against BiH, writes Patria. 

The armed aggression against BiH in 1992 was started by the then leaders of Bosnian Serbs, supported by political and military authorities from Belgrade, i.e., the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA).

It is actually considered that the main idea of the attempted occupation of BiH and the persecution of Bosniaks came from the then Serbian authorities led by Slobodan Milošević.

The peace agreement, after four years of bloody war, was signed by the then presidents of BiH Alija Izetbegović, Croatia Franjo Tuđman, and Serbian president Slobodan Milošević. Today, none of the three are alive anymore.

The Dayton Peace Agreement was initialed on November 21, 1995, in Dayton, and officially signed in Paris three weeks later, on December 14. This agreement established two BiH entities – the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska.

On the same date when the war in BiH ended, exactly 21 years later, hundreds of thousands of civilians in Syrian Aleppo are an open target for the army of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. After Assad's army managed to break the rebels, world media report that Assad's forces are entering homes in the territory that rebel forces controlled until a few days ago, and the army is killing civilians in their homes, including women and children.

World media are comparing Aleppo to Sarajevo and Srebrenica. While the world is appalled, Assad's forces are killing civilians, writes NAP.
