
(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session declared August 26, 2024, as a Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Federation Government makes this decision to express condolences and sympathy with the families of the victims of the horrific murders in Sanski Most.
The day of burial of the last victim of the tragic crime at the Mixed Secondary School "Sanski Most", August 26, 2024, is declared a Day of Mourning in the Federation of BiH.
It is emphasized that the Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory flying of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, i.e., on the flagpole, on the buildings of legislative, executive and judicial authorities, public institutions, agencies and other legal entities in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the Day of Mourning, programs of a cultural and entertainment nature cannot be held in public places in the Federation of BiH.
Also, media outlets in the territory of the Federation of BiH are obliged to align and adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning.
This decision enters into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH.
Also, through the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, the Government will recommend that on the first day of the school year in all primary and secondary schools in the Federation of BiH, tribute be paid to the victims with a minute of silence, recitation of the Fatiha, prayer, or in another appropriate manner.
