Bosnia and Herzegovina flags removed from Mostar City Hall on Statehood Day

Only a few flags in Mostar faintly indicate that Bosnia and Herzegovina is celebrating November 25th - Statehood Day. Croatian politicians have done almost nothing to highlight the significance of this date, and their Bosniak colleagues have not been any more sober, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

- Misery and shame - are the words of indignant Mostar residents, mostly Bosniaks, but among the critics due to the stepmotherly treatment of Bosnia and Herzegovina's statehood in Mostar, there are also a good number of Croats, at least those who share the difficult everyday life with their Bosniak neighbors.

The buildings of the most important institutions in the city on the Neretva River are not only not decorated with the flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, but the flag has been removed from some city institutions, although it was there earlier.

For example, Mostar residents point to the City Hall building; just the day before, the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina was there, but it was abruptly removed yesterday, the day before the celebration of BiH Statehood Day.

There are no state symbols on the building of the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton either. Only the cantonal flag. The entire southwestern urban area is also without symbols.

BiH Statehood Day is felt somewhat better in Mostar only on the streets of the eastern part of the city - a few state flags are displayed - but some of them are placed upside down, like the one on the building of the Archives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, writes Patria.
