Museum 'Walter Defends Sarajevo' dedicated to Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac's film opened at Bistrik Station

(Patria) - The "Walter Defends Sarajevo" museum, dedicated to the cult film by director Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac, was opened today at Bistrik Station.

Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić emphasized that this museum symbolizes the values of the city of Sarajevo and that she is extremely pleased that it is opening on this very significant day.

As a project of the Sarajevo Film Center, the museum was opened on April 6, 2019, on Dženetica čikma street. As Mayor Karić emphasized in her speech, she got the idea to move the museum's location to the renovated Bistrik station, where some of the scenes in the film were shot, from the Mayor of the Old Town Municipality, Irfan Čengić, and thanked him for it on this occasion.

The public institution "Museums of the City of Sarajevo" took over the care of the museum, in partnership with the Sarajevo Film Center, and the partners in the opening of the museum are the Government of Sarajevo Canton and Visit Sarajevo.

The museum is also a kind of tribute to the historical figure, Vladimir Perić Valter, a member of the Resistance Movement and an anti-fascist from World War II.
