The Athletics Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will depart from Sarajevo Airport today for Istanbul, where they will participate in the Balkan Indoor Championship on Saturday, reports the Patria News Agency.
Nine male and female competitors will represent the BiH team.
In the men's competition, the participants will be: Hamza Alić, Mesud Pezer (shot put, AK Zenica), Amel Tuka (800m, AK Zenica), Dušan Babić (1,500m, AK Banjaluka), Sait Huseinbašić (60m, AK Borac), Damir Redžepagić (400m, AK Sarajevo), and Srđan Samardžić (3,000m, AK Brčko), and in the women's competition, Svjetlana Graorac (60m, AK Banjaluka) and Nikolija Stanivuković (high jump, AK Borac).
The competitors are led by the selector of the men's national team, Nebojša Matijević, and coaches Mehmed Skender and Elmir Ćerimagić.
The Balkan Championship is expected to feature the best male and female athletes from 15 countries.
The Balkan Indoor Championship for veterans will also be held in Istanbul, where BiH will be represented by five athletes - shot putters Mensur Vrcić, Semir Kavaz, and Stanko Marić, and Ekrem Jakupović and Denis Kadić in middle-distance races.
