Mother of three murdered Srebrenica men, Zumra Atanović, passes away

(Patria) - The Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center (MC) announced sad news on social media tonight - another Srebrenica mother has passed away.

"Zumra Atanović, one of the several thousand mothers whose sons were killed in the genocide committed in Srebrenica in the summer of 1995, has passed away", announced MC Srebrenica - Potočari.

Zumra last saw her sons Sedin, Ramiz, and Ibrahim in 1993 when she was deported from Srebrenica to Tuzla.

"Sedin sent me a letter, I can't get over the fact that I don't have that letter, he wrote in it - Mom, this is the first and probably the last letter I'm writing to you" - Zumra said in one of her addresses.

When asked if she had any wishes, she would answer - I just want to see my sons again.

Mother Zumra will be buried tomorrow in Rainci near Kalesija, in the cemetery where her sons found their final resting place after their remains were found and identified from mass graves.

"We believe that Mother Zumra will reunite with her children in eternity. May her noble soul rest in peace", stated MC Srebrenica - Potočari in their announcement.
