Largest group of tour operators to date arrives at Sarajevo Airport

(Patria) - 45 representatives of travel agencies from Palestine, or Israel, have arrived at Sarajevo International Airport. This is the largest number of tour operators to have come to Bosnia and Herzegovina from one country to date.

The idea behind this event is to gather the most influential tour operators and agencies from Palestine and Israel, present them with the tourist offer of Sarajevo and BiH, thereby indirectly promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina, and increasing the number of tourists coming to Bosnia and Herzegovina from these regions.

As stated by the organizers of this event, Adnan Kaljanac and Merhunisa Subaša Kaljanac, owners of the M97 tours Travel Agency, "This is the result of five years of work with partner agencies from this country. So far, we have seen an increase in the number of tourists from these regions every year, and with their arrival before the start of the season, we expect an even larger number this year. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the decrease in the number of tourists from Asian regions, this could be a very good compensation."

They will stay in Sarajevo for 4 days. During their stay, they will visit the most important tourist attractions in the Sarajevo Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

As in other developing countries, the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina has significantly influenced the development of other economic branches, the creation of new jobs, and thus the improvement of the quality of life and an increase in national income.

In the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists in BiH. Annually, this is an average of 13%.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Tourist Boards of Central Bosnia Canton and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, who were receptive to this event and assisted us within their capabilities. Unfortunately, the City of Sarajevo did not recognize the importance of this event, even though tourists from these regions stay in the Sarajevo Canton for their entire stay, which also reflects on their non-accommodation spending.
