25 competitors at the 3rd International Diving Event at Bentbaša

The third "International Diving Sarajevo Bentbaša 2017" will be held today August 19, organized by the Association for the Promotion of Sports and Tourism "SporTur" from Sarajevo.

25 competitors from the region (Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro) and Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate in the international diving event at Bentbaša.

The organizers expressed satisfaction that the City of Sarajevo and the municipalities have recognized this sports and tourism event as attractive. The Federal Administration of Civil Protection has currently done the terrain configuration, checked safety, and is carrying out checks to ensure there are no foreign objects that need to be removed in time.

This year, some innovations are being prepared compared to previous competitions, which will contribute to making this year's event even more attractive for visitors. Last year, dives were performed from an improvised platform 16 meters high, and the idea is to place the prefabricated platform at a greater height this year, thus raising the competition to a higher level, and the diving board at Bentbaša will, after the Old Bridge in Mostar, be the second highest diving board in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

The organizer of the event, Dino Bajrić, a long-time diver and winner of the last diving event in Jajce, said that it is necessary to place a platform on the rock next to the dam at Bentbaša from which dives would be performed, and it is necessary to deepen the riverbed of the Miljacka River for the safety of competitors.

- Given that the event will be held for the third time, and that the date of the event is in the midst of the summer tourist season, we believe that the dives at Bentbaša will attract even more attention from many media, citizens of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and guests staying in the capital - said Bajrić.

The patrons of the event are the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, Admiral electronic casino, and partners the Municipality of Stari Grad, Sarajevski kiseljak, Sarajevska pivara, Elit nutricion, and the Federal Administration of Civil Protection.
