BiH MFA Promotes EYOF 2019 Through Diplomatic and Consular Network

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak held a meeting today with the mayors of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka and Nenad Vuković, hosts of the 14th edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF 2019. From February 9 to 16, these two cities will host 46 delegations with more than 750 athletes and coaches who will compete in eight disciplines. 

The participants of the meeting emphasized that both cities can only draw positive results from the organization of EYOF, an increase in tourism, winter sports tourism, and the promotion of BiH in the world.

- Great things can be achieved through agreement and compromise. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide support within its competencies until the end of EYOF. In the next few days, we will forward the latest information related to EYOF, our mountains and cities through our diplomatic and consular network, and in this way promote the event - said Crnadak. 

The Mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vuković, said that EYOF is an opportunity to show that great things can be done.

- And that we can return to the scene of organizing major competitions in winter sports, for which we were once known. The interest of the two cities is crucial here, much has been done on the infrastructure, and this will be the legacy of EYOF, and we will do a lot to promote our tourist potentials. We will strive to be good hosts - stated Vuković. 

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, emphasized that EYOF will not be the end when it comes to organizing major events. 

- Youth and sport can overcome all barriers. Soon, the key of glory Vučko will be handed over to Groodvyj at the ceremonial opening of the games. We will show that the Olympic spirit lives here, and this will be a catalyst for positive energy - said Skaka. 

The ceremonial opening of EYOF will be on February 10 at the stadium "Asim Ferhatović Hase", and the closing on February 16 at the stadium of FK Slavija in Lukavica.
