(Patria) - The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo has informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH that the evacuation of foreign citizens from the Gaza Strip has been temporarily suspended due to damaged infrastructure during yesterday's bombing of the Rafah crossing, on the Palestinian side.
According to unofficial information, activities are being undertaken to evacuate injured persons from the area to Egypt first, after which the evacuation process for foreign citizens would continue.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is in continuous communication with the countries in the region and international organizations on the ground, such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which has promised its support, all with the aim of realizing the evacuation of BiH citizens from the Gaza Strip as soon as the first opportunity arises.
We remind that so far, 54 people have contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, or rather the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo, for evacuation, of whom 19 are citizens of BiH, while the others are foreigners related to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
