BiH MFA on Middle East Escalation: No Country Currently Organizing Evacuations from the Gulf

(Patria) - Regarding the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced that it continues to closely monitor the situation.

The Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is holding continuous sessions and actively monitoring developments on the ground.

The Ministry is in constant contact with our diplomatic network, as well as with relevant international partners, taking all necessary measures to respond promptly to the current situation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH states that currently no country is organizing the evacuation of its citizens from the Gulf.

"In order to coordinate activities within BiH and with the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH is closely cooperating with the operational center of the Ministry of Security of BiH, as the coordinator of cooperation with the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, to ensure an effective and safe response in case of organizing evacuations of our citizens.

At today's meeting of the Crisis Staff, the Ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Tehran, Nijaz Čardaklija, and from Tel Aviv, Duško Kovačević, attended via video link, as well as representatives of other BiH embassies in the Gulf (Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Doha, Riyadh, Amman).

They are closely monitoring the situation on the ground and regularly reporting to headquarters. The main focus of the discussions was on the security situation and the needs of our citizens, with a special emphasis on those seeking assistance.

Our citizens are in constant contact with BiH embassies through open communication channels and are receiving the necessary information and support.

Furthermore, a special WhatsApp group has been formed by the BiH Embassy in Abu Dhabi at the number +971 264 44 164 for additional support, and WhatsApp groups have also been formed at the embassies in Qatar and Kuwait.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the competent embassies are actively considering alternative routes for the evacuation of our citizens, in case the airports in the Gulf are closed.

Citizens will be subsequently informed about all relevant information related to evacuations.
