Muzur presented ten projects that will improve the quality of life for the residents of Ilidža municipality

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, today presented a series of projects that will be implemented in the period 2022-2024. These are ten projects that will completely transform the appearance of Ilidža municipality.

Regarding the Ilidža Municipality Budget for 2022, which is over 38 million KM, it is development-oriented, with over 50 percent of the budget concentrated on capital investments.

Muzur emphasized that a large number of traffic-related projects were completed in 2021. He took the opportunity to mention that Rustempašina Street has been open to traffic since November due to the reconstruction of the tram line, and this street will be closed to traffic again once the line is completed.

The municipality has also initiated the renewal of the cadastre of Ilidža.

“Ilidža Municipality is among the worst municipalities in this regard, we have initiated this process. We have already conducted a survey of a part of the municipality in Vlakovo, and we want to leave a much better situation for everyone after us than what we found,” said Muzur.

Muzur announced that a major international company will begin its operations in this municipality in January and invest tens of millions of KM.

In 2022, Ilidža Municipality plans several projects that will improve the quality of life for the citizens of this municipality. The construction of a school in Stup is planned, and the project was developed by the Faculty of Architecture of UNSA. One of the projects is the construction of a sports hall in Hrasnica with a capacity of 1,000 seats.

The reconstruction of Kosturnica Park, which covers 45,000 square meters, is planned. This park will be reconstructed according to its former appearance during the Austro-Hungarian period, and due to the Monument to the Fighters of NOR, they had to obtain all necessary approvals from the competent institutions.

“We are proceeding with the reconstruction of this park. This will surely be the best park in KS. It requires a little more time, but we have already initiated preparatory activities,” said Muzur.

A part of the Željeznica riverbanks will be specially utilized, where four thermal water pools will be built, as well as a sports and recreation center for children and youth on 15,000 square meters.

The Municipal Mayor said that he is pleased with the project of building a tram line from Ilidža to Hrasnica, which was approved by the EBRD based on all analyses and regulatory plans of Ilidža Municipality and its development.

“By mid-2022, we should have selected a contractor. This is a project that completely changes the image of the entire Ilidža municipality,” he said.

The Igman Road, which was the only way to enter and leave Sarajevo during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be reconstructed, and the construction of the square "Sabit Hadžić" is planned, which will connect the area between the two schools in Ilidža.

Regarding the floods that hit the area of this municipality in November, the damage assessment has been completed.

“For the first time, the affected population will receive funds in the amount of the estimated damage. At the beginning of the year, we will start paying for construction damage. We now have 118 cases for which amounts ranging from 700 to over 20,000 KM will be paid. This is the first phase, damage to buildings, and higher levels of government will be involved,” said Muzur.

He pointed out that the Minister of Economy of KS, Adnan Delić, secured 800,000 KM, which will be used to resolve land expropriation issues in order to regulate the Željeznica riverbed.

He especially thanked the Government of KS for their support on all projects.

When asked about the cooperation with businessmen, as well as with the municipality of Novi Grad, which it borders, Muzur said that he is open to cooperation.

“Ilidža Municipality is the richest when it comes to businessmen, we have over 1,300 registered business entities, and we have tried to talk with them as much as possible. We are preparing to open a special office for businessmen in Ilidža Municipality, where they will have facilitation from that side as well. At the beginning of the year, we plan to form the Association of Businessmen of Ilidža Municipality. We are their service, but we will try not to cross the line that some are used to. All the reforms we have started will not always be met with approval,” said Muzur.

Muzur said that he sees no reason why local communities should not cooperate.

“We have been to some meetings together, these are life issues, a river cannot be stopped in one municipality, and we need to cooperate. We were not dealing with politics, but with the interests of the citizens,” said Muzur.

Regarding the idea of Ilidža municipality becoming one of the city municipalities, Muzur said that they are ready for anything that will bring improvement and prosperity to Ilidža municipality, but that everything needs to be analyzed and the benefits assessed.
