Museum of War Childhood to be located in Logavina Street

The Stari Grad Municipal Council at its 42nd session adopted a proposal decision to lease business premises at Logavina Street no. 32 to the citizens' association “Urban”, for the purpose of implementing the project of establishing the Museum of War Childhood.

It was previously determined that the project of establishing the "Museum of War Childhood" is of strategic interest for the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, and it was decided to find adequate space for its establishment. Given the required dimensions, the only possibility for implementing this project was in the space of the Community Center "Logavina". The space was inspected by a representative of the citizens' association accompanied by engaged professional experts in architecture, who stated that it meets the intended purpose, both in size and location. The rental price is six convertible marks per square meter, and the association "Urban" will carry out the necessary adaptation of the said premises at its own expense to adjust them to the purpose.

The Stari Grad Municipal Council today supported the project of building the "Trebević Cable Car", and the planned funds in the amount of 500,000 KM will be paid when the competent Urban Planning Service issues a building permit. As at the previous session a conclusion was reached to allocate part of the funds from the sale of the land of the former "Feroelektro" facility for the construction of the Trebević Cable Car, if the main project is submitted to the competent service by the time of today's session, it was noted today that the project has not been submitted, but the councilors were in favor of supporting the construction of the cable car. For this reason, a conclusion was reached that the funds will become operational when the building permit is issued.

The councilors at today's session also declared on the proclamation of the Protected Landscape "Bentbaša". As at a previously held thematic session on this topic, the Council requested the opinion of the Commission for the Protection of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which gave a positive opinion on the Draft Law, the Municipal Council today accepted the Commission's opinion. It will be requested that during the adoption of the law, special attention be paid to the protection of Isa-bey's endowment and Kozija ćuprija (Goat's Bridge).
