Muslims marked the birth of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH

The central Mawlid ceremony on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH was held in the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque after the afternoon prayer, reports the Patria News Agency.

The lecture was delivered by the Mufti of Sarajevo, Dr. Enes Ljevaković, and the Chief Imam of the Islamic Community of Sarajevo, Mr. Ferid ef. Dautović, while the reciters of the Mawlid were imams from the MIZ Sarajevo and a group of imams from the Republic of Turkey, as well as the advisor for religious affairs at the Turkish Embassy, Hasan Atli. 

Hafiz Mensur ef. Malkić, the imam of the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, welcomed the present congregation and reminded them of the significance of the month of Rabi al-awwal, in which Muhammad PBUH was born. 

The organizer of the program is the Islamic Community of Sarajevo in cooperation with the Gazi Husrev-bey Waqf, and the program is being realized within the framework of the event "Days of God's Messenger, Peace be upon him, O Messenger of God". 

Tomorrow, after the afternoon prayer, a Mawlid for women will also be held in the Ferhadija Mosque, and the reciters will be female members of the Choir of the MIZ Sarajevo. A suitable lecture will be given by Hafiza Amira Kadrispahić.
