Muslims Celebrate Kurban-Bairam: Mosques Full of Worshippers

Thousands of worshippers prayed Bayram prayer this morning in mosques across BiH and the world, celebrating the beginning of Kurban-Bairam, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The central ceremony was held at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, and the Bayram prayer was led by the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community of BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović.

In his sermon to the worshippers, Kavazović emphasized that the life path of every believer requires sacrifice and renunciation. He called for mutual solidarity and respect.

- May Kurban-Bairam, as its name suggests, remind us of the primordial endeavor to draw closer to God's mercy, but also to our brothers and sisters who need us. The meaning of the sacrifice is to bring us closer to one another, to strengthen our families and the society we live in. We have this opportunity in the coming days, and let us use it in the right way. This way, we will solve our problems more easily and move more peacefully along the paths of our destiny.

- To all of you in our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and in the diaspora, I wish you happy and blessed Bairam days. Let us spend them with family, relatives, friends, and neighbors. May the joy of Bairam fill our hearts and enter our families and homes - said Reis Kavazović.
