Man entered the Municipality building in Kalesija and threatened to kill himself

Former Army of BiH soldier Salih Zulfić threatened to commit suicide because he lives on the edge of poverty. The local Kalesija portal reported that Zulfić entered the municipal council hall in Kalesija. He threatened to commit suicide if local authorities did not help him get better living conditions. Zulfić held a knife to his throat.

Police had to intervene due to this incident. The desperate Zulfić soon put down the knife and started crying.

- I am not here by force, I am here out of hardship – Zulfić told the police officers who escorted him out of the Municipality building. The Kalesija portal reminds that Zulfić had previously spent several months on the border between BiH and Croatia, seeking asylum in some European country, but did not receive it.

Zulfić is not the only one in Bosnia and Herzegovina who has threatened to commit suicide this year due to poor financial situation, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Demobilized soldiers Šefik Muminović and Džemal Zahirović from Kladanj and Živinice warned in April this year that they would set themselves on fire in front of the Presidency of BiH because they live on the edge of existence.

Two strikers from Kakanj, Ćazim Bajrić and Namir Pipo, three months later also spent almost a month in front of the building of the Government of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, seeking help from the authorities. After that, they tried to set themselves on fire, but the police prevented them from doing so, writes NAP.
