Man impersonated SIPA officer and stole a car

Police officers of the Banja Luka - Lauš Police Station, on August 21, 2016, based on operational information and measures taken following a received report, found and deprived of liberty R.G. (born 1977) from Banja Luka, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of false impersonation and theft, the RS Ministry of Interior announced, as reported by the Patria agency.

The Banja Luka Public Security Center was reported on August 18, 2016, at around 1:50 AM, that an unknown person in Franca Šuberta Street intercepted a passenger vehicle „Ford“ driven by a woman, approached the vehicle, introduced himself as a SIPA officer, requested to see personal documents, and then began shouting and demanded she get out of the vehicle. The victim fled while exiting the vehicle, and at the same time, the passenger also got out and fled.

The suspect stole personal documents from the vehicle, the key, as well as the victim's clothing. After receiving the report, police officers undertook a series of operational measures and actions to verify the report's allegations and identify the suspect. 

The stolen items were found and returned to the owner.

The duty prosecutor of the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka was informed of the gathered information and ordered that, after the case is completed and documented, a report for the mentioned criminal offenses be submitted in regular procedure.
