Musa presented to American journalists: My hard work paid off

BROOKLYN, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina national team member and former Cedevita winger Džanan Musa was selected as the 29th pick in the first round of the draft by the Brooklyn Nets.

Already today, our national team player was presented to the American media.

- My family and I were very excited during the draft and I hope to be successful next season. In Europe, the situation is such that if you have any talent, they throw you into the fire and thus teach you how to play at a professional level - said Musa.

American journalists asked Musa where he draws his immense self-confidence.

- I work a lot and from that work I draw confidence. When you work hard, you can have that confidence, but you also have to be humble and remember where you come from and what your roots are. Since I was little, I have tried hard and made sacrifices. I worked very hard and I think the effort paid off.

Musa added that his priority is to gain weight and strengthen his muscles.

- I want to get stronger, gain mass, improve my game on defense - pointed out one of the best young players in Europe.

I know about the Nets through Teletović, with whom I am a very good friend. I know them best through him, added Musa.

Our national team player added that his previous competitive experience will greatly help him in the strongest basketball league in the world.

- It helped me a lot that I started playing in professional leagues and competitions at a very young age. My role model was Kobe Bryant. I like him because he was persistent and aggressive on the court. I want to be like that too. Ginobili is my other role model. Also, I am very grateful for the fact that I know Teletović personally, who also gives me advice.

The journalists were also interested in which position he sees himself in the new team.

- I will give my best to be ready for every position - stated Musa.

Musa emphasized that he fell in love with basketball as a child as soon as he first picked up a ball.

- I have been playing for three or four years and I think that will prove very good for my development. I fell in love with basketball as soon as I got my first basketball. As soon as I got it, I told it, 'I will marry you' - pointed out Musa.
