Murphy with Bećirović: US determined to counter anti-Dayton activities such as RS Day

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina Michael Murphy.

During the conversation, Bećirović thanked for the continuous support of the US to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to full membership in the EU and NATO.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the cooperation so far and emphasized the importance of continuing the strategic partnership with the aim of strengthening the stability, security, and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. Key issues concerning bilateral relations were also discussed.

Denis Bećirović pointed out the importance of the continuity of bipartisan support from the United States of America for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its sovereignty and territorial integrity, regardless of whether Republicans or Democrats are in power.

Ambassador Murphy emphasized the importance of domestic leaders putting the well-being of citizens ahead of personal or party interests. He particularly emphasized the importance of the Southern Interconnection project, as a transformative energy project aimed at ensuring the energy independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is in the interest of all peoples and citizens because it strengthens security and economic stability. The interlocutors emphasized that it is in the interest of everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region to build a peaceful and stable environment conducive to attracting direct foreign investment.

After the meeting, Ambassador Murphy posted on X and stated: "I reiterated the United States' determination to counter anti-Dayton activities, such as yesterday’s unconstitutional commemorations in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, and again affirmed the United States’ unwavering commitment to the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
