Murphy: We will defend the Constitutional Court of BiH, it cannot be an ethnic institution as Dodik and Čović want

(Patria) - The US still believes that foreign judges are needed in the Constitutional Court of BiH, said the US Ambassador Michael Murphy in an interview on Face TV's Centralni dnevnik.

"The Constitutional Court of BiH should not be an ethnic institution as Dodik and Čović want. We will defend the institutions of this country, including the Constitutional Court of BiH," said Murphy.

Regarding state property, Murphy said that state property belongs to the state.

"Look at Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, they have all gone through similar processes. State property belongs to the state, but that does not mean that entities, cantons, cities, municipalities cannot use that property.

Dodik is trying to scare people and leads them to legal fantasies. That will not succeed, it will not change the opinion of the international community. Mr. Dodik claims that the property belongs to him, and that is not true.

We are motivated by our interests and our policies. We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity and the multi-ethnic character of BiH. We want BiH to be integrated into the EU and NATO. We will defend the Dayton Peace Agreement, the Constitution of BiH, the state, and we will clearly state when we see actions that contradict those interests.

We are not playing games. Those who think we are playing games must be aware of the consequences. We have sanctioned those who played games and we will do it again," said Murphy.
