Muriz Memić: They killed one of my children, and now they want to kill the other

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office this morning questioned Arijana Memić, the sister of the murdered youth Dženan Memić, as a "suspect" for the criminal offense of endangering security and obstruction of justice, based on a report by Alisa Mutap, the sole witness to the events of February 8, 2016, when Memić sustained injuries that led to his death a few days later, reports Patria agency.

Arijana declared to prosecutor Advija Hajdo Bahto that she would provide a statement in the presence of her lawyer, for which she was given a 15-day deadline.

Arijana and Dženan's father, Muriz Memić, in a poignant interview with Patria agency, said he would engage a team of lawyers to defend his other child.

- They killed one of my children, and now they are killing the other. They have been killing us for two years, hiding the truth. I am neither a coward nor crazy, I am just seeking the truth about my child's death - Memić stated.

The reason for calling Arijana Memić to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office are alleged death threats and posts on Facebook about Alisa Mutap.

Memić states that his daughter never threatened Alisa and that this will be proven.

- The prosecutors of the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office are more interested in who writes what on Facebook than in my son's killers - Memić said.

A trial is underway at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo against Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović for the criminal offense of serious endangerment of public traffic and for the criminal offense of failure to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident and the criminal offense of obstruction of justice, in the case of Dženan Memić's death.

The Memić family, along with citizens, has organized six peaceful protests demanding that the true story of Dženan Memić's death be revealed.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, in one of its letters to the Memić family, admitted that the testimony of witness Alisa Mutap was decisive for the "direction of the investigation." However, the Court did not allow her to testify again in the continuation of the proceedings.

Otherwise, Memić pointed out that on the day marking nineteen months since Dženan's death, his other child had to make a statement at the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office and go through a new trauma.
