MUP ZDK enriched with 98 new police officers

(Patria) - The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) today promoted 98 cadets who, after completing their training, took an oath, signed employment contracts, and officially joined the ranks of the MUP ZDK.

The ceremony was held at the Training and Accommodation Center of the Special Police Unit in Zenica.



The MUP ZDK, like most police agencies in BiH, faces a shortage of personnel, so the new 98 police officers will significantly strengthen the police ranks.

- Today is a special day for the MUP ZDK and our community. Before us stand 98 new cadets who, with their courage, loyalty, and professionalism, will become pillars of security for our community.

Your journey in the MUP ZDK begins today, and I believe that each of you will contribute to building a stable and secure society through your work - said the Prime Minister of ZDK, Nezir Pivić.

The Government of ZDK has been investing significant funds in equipping and improving the efficiency of the MUP in recent years.



- Stable finances have enabled us to strengthen institutions that care for the safety of citizens. The budget of the MUP ZDK for 2025 has been increased by 42.13%, and capital investments have risen from 1.8 to 10.2 million KM. In addition, almost five million KM has been allocated for the procurement of new uniforms - said Pivić.

He added that new vehicles, modern equipment, radars, drones, and communication systems have been procured. A tender for the procurement of armored vehicles has been concluded, with delivery expected at the beginning of 2026.

For the first time since 1997, armament has been renewed, and the procurement of a helicopter worth 8.2 million KM, which will be available to the MUP, is underway.



The Minister of Internal Affairs of ZDK, Emir Vračo, emphasized that this is an important day not only for the 98 cadets but also for all citizens who believe in a safe, just, and dignified BiH.

- The oath you are taking today symbolizes knowledge, honor, and professionalism. From today, your conduct will be a reflection of that oath. May every uniform you wear be a symbol of trust and integrity - Vračo stated.

The Police Commissioner of the MUP ZDK, Admir Gazić, stressed that he believes the young cadets will live up to expectations and be a source of pride for the ZDK Police Administration.



Prime Minister Pivić concluded by telling the cadets that dedication, courage, fairness, and responsibility are expected of them – qualities that characterize successful police officers and people.
