MUP ZDK: 12-year-old drove a car from Sarajevo to Tešanj

MUP ZDK issued a statement about the case that intrigued the BiH public, involving a 12-year-old boy who last night drove a passenger vehicle from Sarajevo to Tešanj, passed through a toll booth after which the police were notified, and only stopped when he ran out of fuel, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

- After on 22.10.2015, at 19:00 hours, the Operational Center of the Ministry of Interior of Zenica-Doboj Canton was notified about the disappearance of a passenger vehicle in the area of Sarajevo Canton, in which a minor was located, all police patrols in the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton were immediately informed, and control points were set up at several locations on the roads to stop all vehicles and find the wanted vehicle and person.

As a result of the indicated activities at 21:25 hours, in the place of Šije, Tešanj municipality, next to the M-17 main road, a police patrol of the Doboj South Police Station found the said vehicle, in which a minor from Sarajevo was sitting in the driver's seat.

Through investigative actions, review of surveillance camera footage, and other measures taken by police officers, it was determined that the boy drove the vehicle on the route Sarajevo-Šije, where he was found by the police patrol. The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton was also informed about all of the above.
