RS MoI: We will prevent any public gathering of the "Justice for David" group

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The RS Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed today that a certain number of individuals who participated in the "Justice for David" rally held on December 30, 2018, are still being sought. Several individuals have been arrested, while an arrest warrant has been issued for Davor Dragičević.

- Police officers of the Banja Luka Police Administration, due to non-compliance with the obligations prescribed by the RS Law on Public Gatherings, at the reported gathering for December 30, 2018, and for committing offenses under the Law on Public Order and Peace, the Law on Public Gatherings, and the Law on the Fundamentals of Road Traffic Safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and due to the existence of suspicion that certain criminal offenses have been committed, have deprived a certain number of individuals of their liberty, while a certain number of individuals are being sought.

Namely, the organizer of the public gathering did not comply with the obligations prescribed by the RS Law on Public Gatherings, and after being held at Krajina Square, the reported public gathering continued as a public gathering in motion, which was not reported as such. The organizer of the public gathering, as in previous gatherings, did not fulfill the legally prescribed obligations, but together with other participants, proceeded with a protest march through the city, during which various offenses were committed by participants of the public gathering at several locations, and there are grounds for suspicion that certain criminal offenses have also been committed.

Participants of the public gathering also interrupted the previously scheduled concert of pop artist Haris Džinović, in the parking lot of "Kraš", by shouting, yelling, insulting, and damaging the stage and equipment, thus preventing the performance of the planned program. Due to these events, the competent city services canceled the previously announced New Year's cultural and entertainment events.

Due to frequent disturbances of public order and peace, commission of criminal offenses, obstruction of normal traffic flow, and non-compliance with the RS Law on Public Gatherings, all future public gatherings of the "Justice for David" group will be prevented and interrupted in accordance with the RS Law on Public Gatherings, and participants of such public gatherings will be sanctioned in accordance with the law, it was announced from the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.
