MUP KS: Movement ban for everyone from 6 PM, except for special categories of employees

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Respecting the fact that the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters issued an Order banning the movement of citizens from today from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we hereby emphasize the obligation to comply with the said restriction, and the Police Administration of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton will undertake necessary activities with the aim of implementing the said Order in the territory of Sarajevo Canton.

Exempt from the said restriction are employees involved in implementing measures and activities to address the state of emergency caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the territory of the FBiH, as well as employees whose work process takes place in shifts, with the note that these are work processes that have not been prohibited from performing activities by earlier decisions.

In this regard, we inform employees whose movement is necessary in connection with the aforementioned activities that, when checked by police officers, they are obliged to have with them:

1)  personal identification documents on the basis of which their identity can be verified,

2) proof of employment status (e.g., ID card of a specific authority, health or other institution, news agency, specific company, or similar),

3) a certificate from the employer, certified and signed by the responsible person, confirming that the work of the person to whom the certificate refers is organized in shifts and necessary for maintaining the continuity of the activity.

If the employer does not issue ID cards to its workers as proof of employment status, it is necessary to state this when issuing the certificate from the previous paragraph.

Police officers of the Police Administration of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton will, in accordance with their powers, take legally prescribed measures and actions with the aim of implementing the orders of competent authorities and institutions, and will sanction any irresponsible individuals in accordance with the law and other regulations, they stated in a press release from the MUP KS.

In case persons are found violating the Order on movement ban, we note that they will be sanctioned by issuing a misdemeanor warrant or filing a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings, and the prescribed sanctions are from 500 to 1500 KM, or, for parents or guardians of minors who commit a misdemeanor, from 400 to 1200 KM, with the note that those found in violation and continue to commit it, or possibly refuse to act upon a lawful order of a police officer, will be subject to the measure of deprivation of liberty.

We note that the Order completely banning the movement of persons under 18 and over 65 years of age is still in effect.

We appeal to all citizens to fully comply with the Orders issued by the competent authorities and institutions, and thereby contribute to preventing the spread of the coronavirus due to which a state of emergency, i.e., a state of emergency, has been declared throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
