SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On March 12, 2020, police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, in cooperation with the BiH Service for Foreigners' Affairs - Sarajevo Field Office and competent inspection authorities: the Federal Revenue Administration - Sarajevo Cantonal Tax Office and the Sarajevo Canton Administration for Inspection Affairs, carried out an operational action codenamed "PEČAT" (SEAL).

The aforementioned activities were carried out by order of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, in a residential and commercial building on Munira Gavrankapetanovića Street, Ilidža Municipality, owned by Z.K. from Sarajevo.

"During the search of the said building, 175 persons - 'migrants' were found residing illegally in the mentioned building, paying monetary compensation to the owner for their stay. Given the above, and that the persons did not possess the necessary documentation for staying in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they were transferred to the 'Blažuj' Immigration Center.

During the search of person M.A., born in 1994 in Morocco, nine PVC bags containing a dry herbaceous substance resembling the narcotic drug marijuana were found and temporarily confiscated. The said person was deprived of liberty and will be handed over to the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton today with an official report, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense under Article 239, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH (Possession and enabling the use of narcotic drugs)," announced the Public Relations Department of the KS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Inspectors from the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, the Federal Revenue Administration - Sarajevo Cantonal Tax Office, and the Sarajevo Canton Administration for Inspection Affairs took measures and actions within their jurisdiction on this occasion.

Given that a larger number of migrants were transferred to this canton from the Tuzla Canton area yesterday, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton will continue preventive-repressive activities in the coming period, in accordance with available human and material resources, and within its jurisdiction in the Sarajevo Canton area.
