KS MUP: We expect 25,000 people at the public New Year's Eve celebration, use public transport or taxi to reduce congestion

(Patria) - On the occasion of the upcoming New Year's holidays, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton once again reminds citizens of the changed traffic regime on certain roads in Sarajevo Canton, as well as increased police presence, traffic control, and public order and peace.

The organizer of the public New Year's Eve celebration in front of the Eternal Flame expects more than 25,000 visitors. In this regard, to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow, citizens are recommended to use public city transport or authorized taxi services to attend this event.

Those who decide to come by their own cars should park their vehicles in designated parking spots and in accordance with the changed traffic regime. A complete list of streets where parking and traffic are prohibited is available on the website www.mup.ks.gov.ba

We remind visitors that it is forbidden to carry any firearms or cold weapons, pyrotechnic devices, as well as other items that could be dangerous to other visitors at public gatherings.

Police officers of the Police Administration will conduct enhanced monitoring of traffic participants, with a special emphasis on driving under the influence of alcohol. As there is no sufficiently valid reason for driving while intoxicated, which is an extremely dangerous act for all traffic participants, a zero-tolerance policy will be applied to reasons for driving under the influence of alcohol for all drivers who have illegal blood alcohol concentrations during checks.
