Mujkić: It is encouraging that leading European powers in Berlin today showed interest in BiH

Asim Mujkić, a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, assessed for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) that it should be encouraging for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the leading European powers such as Germany and Great Britain showed in Berlin today that they are still interested in the situation in BiH and that they are seeking an alliance with the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of this country's progress.

On the other hand, Professor Mujkić said, it is scandalous that the political elites from our country must commit in writing to do something that is in the interest of citizens, from which it can absolutely be concluded that the political elites in Bosnia and Herzegovina have lost the trust not only of their own people but also of the international community.

At the sixth Aspen Conference of Foreign Ministers of Southeast Europe, held today in Berlin and organized by the Aspen Institute Germany, the foreign ministers of Great Britain and Germany, Philip Hammond and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, demanded that the politicians in BiH, elected by citizens in the General Elections on October 12, commit in writing to implement institutional reforms at all levels of the state and accept the obligation to agree with the EU on a roadmap for a broad reform plan through which BiH will progress towards the final goal, which is EU accession.

If BiH politicians fulfill the agreement of the two ministers, they said that in return they would ask the EU to bring the Stabilization and Association Agreement into force for BiH.
