Mujkanović should not have allowed the indictment against Peljto to state "civil war"

The Chief Prosecutor of the Brčko District Prosecutor's Office, Zekerija Mujkanović, should not have overlooked that the indictment filed by this prosecutor's office against Mensur Peljto states that a civil war occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina, warned one of the leading Bosnian experts in constitutional law, Professor Omer Ibrahimagić, for the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Serbia and Bosnian Serbs, the professor reminds, have been trying to impose the thesis since the beginning of the aggression against BiH until today that a civil war took place in Bosnia and Herzegovina between Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats from '92 to '95, in order to absolve Serbia of the crimes it committed in BiH.

This can also be seen in the indictment that the Brčko District Prosecutor's Office filed a few days ago against former BiH boxer Mensur Peljto, in which he is accused of slapping Serb prisoners in Brčko in '92, thereby causing them mental anguish.

What caught many people's attention in that indictment was precisely the fact that the aggression against BiH was referred to as a civil war.

Professor Ibrahimagić says that this thesis about a civil war was not accidentally written into the indictment, and that it has a clear purpose.

- The thesis of a civil war in BiH was invented by the Serb aggressor to, in a way, free themselves from responsibility for waging war against Bosnia and Herzegovina as a neighbor, as a state. Serbia wants to reduce the war in BiH to a conflict between Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats, and thereby absolve itself of responsibility – warns Ibrahimagić.

However, it is interesting, he says, how this thesis has also been accepted among Bosnian Serbs, again with the aim of freeing Serbia from responsibility.

- It is clear that this was not a civil war, but an aggression – says Ibrahimagić, reminding once again that it has been repeatedly confirmed by verdicts against certain officers and generals from Serbia and BiH that an international conflict, not a civil war, took place in BiH.

- Mujkanović should have reacted to this claim about a civil war, considering that our thesis, the Bosnian thesis, the thesis of scientists dealing with the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina, is that this was an international, not a civil, conflict – warns Professor Ibrahimagić, writes Patria.
