Muhidin Kapo for NAP: Seid Fazlagić is a free man as of today

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo today sentenced Seid Fazlagić, driver of SDA Secretary General Amir Zukić, to eight months in prison, the Patria agency reports.

The court accepted the agreement that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office reached with Fazlagić and imposed a sentence of eight months in prison. Fazlagić, in agreement with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense.

Muhidin Kapo, attorney for Seid Fazlagić, confirmed to the Patria news agency that Fazlagić will be released from custody today and that he is effectively a free man as of today.

- We are satisfied with the verdict, as it is largely what we achieved through the agreement with the Prosecutor's Office - Kapo said for NAP.

He also confirmed that the verdict against his client will not affect the further course of the trial of Amir Zukić and other defendants in the Bosna operation, because Fazlagić, according to attorney Kapo, "was only a driver and did not participate in the commission of the acts for which the Prosecutor's Office charges Zukić and the others."

- In my opinion, Mr. Fazlagić did not cause any harmful consequence to anyone. He admitted to an act that the law treats leniently, and his assistance was not realized; there is no injured party - Kapo emphasized.

We recall, Seid Fazlagić was arrested in February this year in the Bosna operation together with SDA Secretary General Amir Zukić, while Safet Bibić, Senad and Nedžad Trako, Ramiz Karavdić, and Esed Džananović were arrested earlier. The indictment also includes Asim Sarajlić and Mirsad Kukić, vice-presidents of the SDA, who are charged with receiving a reward or other form of benefit for influence peddling.

Fazlagić decided to reach an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office, and his trial, separate from the rest of the group, began 15 days ago.

Fazlagić decided to plead guilty due to health reasons, as it was assessed that in such a health condition he would not be able to endure the court process to the end.
