Muhasilović: Separatist policy towards BiH has never fundamentally changed, nor has it renounced the political goals from the early 90s

(Patria) - Professor of International Relations and Geopolitics at the International University of Sarajevo, Jahja Muhasilović, was a guest on the show "7PLUS" on Hayat Television tonight, where he spoke about the upcoming vote on the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica, as well as yesterday's session of the UN Security Council.

- When we analyze the High Representative's Report, it is useful to start with the positive aspects, and the most important fact is that Milorad Dodik's policy has finally received its true epithet and name, which is separatism.

The High Representative, in several instances, has defined this policy as separatism, so from now on, no one can call his policy radicalism anymore.

It is important to recall that this policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina has never fundamentally changed, nor has it renounced its political goals from the early nineties, which ultimately is the disintegration of BiH - said Muhasilović.

As a second positive point, he mentions that the High Representative pointed out the autocratic nature of the authorities in the smaller BiH entity, because there is no longer freedom of speech there.

- De facto, the only space where freedom of speech exists are the spaces liberated by the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., those spaces where Bosniaks are the majority.

In those areas, you also have a multi-party system, multiculturalism, multi-ethnicity, and all sorts of forms of pluralism that freely coexist there, primarily thanks to the Bosnian spirit of freedom that allows people with different political, ideological, and other views to freely express their opinions - emphasizes Muhasilović.

He stresses that, although such a policy did not begin with High Representative Christian Schmidt, it culminated with his decision to react mildly to the political moves of Dodik's separatism, meaning he never seriously tried to prevent him from making such moves.

However, Muhasilović adds, there is a specific point in the High Representative's address yesterday that is concerning.

- I am particularly concerned about the part of his address where the High Representative, I am not sure if it was his intention, but at least it sounded like he has no problem with Vukoja being appointed to the Constitutional Court, at least that was the translation.

I would really like to know if that is indeed Mr. Schmidt's stance, although the moves and policies he has pursued so far suggest that he might indeed have no problem with Vukoja's appointment - states Professor Muhasilović.

He adds that in that case, which should be known by the end of the month, it would represent a complete takeover of the country's judicial system by Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik.
