Muhasilović: We should not rush into an agreement with Croatia, it is primarily important to protect the interests of BiH

(Patria) - On the order of POSKOK, and due to suspicions and necessary investigative actions in the case "Spengavanje" a search of the office premises of the Prime Minister of the FBiH Nermin Nikšić and the apartment of his former head of cabinet Arijana Huseinović-Ajanović was carried out today.

Also today, a session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH was scheduled, convened in order to try to adopt laws necessary for the continuation of the European path.

After four hours of discussion on the formation of the agenda, a break was called, after which the quorum was lost.

Thus, the House of Peoples, although the texts of the laws they were supposed to adopt were different from those that the House of Representatives also unsuccessfully voted on yesterday, failed in adopting the Law on the HJPC and the Law on the Court of BiH.

Perhaps the only good news today is the announced result of the meeting at the US Embassy, during which it was agreed that the South Stream will be built and managed by an American strategic investor.

Thus, it has once again been shown that the current government achieves results only if US representatives stand behind them with the decisive motive to do what is also necessary for them.

Professor Jahja Muhasilović spoke about these topics, as well as other current events for Hayat Television this evening.

It is good news, Muhasilović believes, that the corruption affair "Spengavanje" is being processed in this way. However, he adds that he is slightly skeptical about this.

- The first reason for this is that the entire operation was named 'Munjić and others', and it should have been named 'Nikšić and others'. The leader of the SDP and the Prime Minister of the FBiH, probably due to his influence on political life and perhaps the judiciary, has very skillfully managed to focus the operation on people who are responsible but are not at the top of that pyramid of responsibility.

He is certainly the most responsible here, and Munjić, on whom they are clearly trying to shift all responsibility, is hierarchically below him and acted on Nikšić's orders. Therefore, I hope that the Prosecutor's Office will not forget the fact that Nikšić is ultimately the most responsible in this affair.

If, however, our investigative bodies decide to resolve this affair only partially and prosecute only some people, then it will mean that they are deeply politicized.

I hope, although I am a little skeptical, that our judicial bodies will prove their professionalism and independence and that justice is truly blind to everyone, regardless of the position they hold in the hierarchy of power - states Muhasilović.

Commenting on the scope of today's meeting at the American Embassy, organized by the US Chargé d'Affaires John Ginkel, Muhasilović says that it should be noted that things are unfolding as desired by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

- This was agreed much earlier. The Americans thought that Čović would deliver the South Interconnection to them. However, he recognized the interest of the HDZ and a small political clique of Croats in BiH through this project to place gas in BiH under hegemony and full control by forming a company in West Mostar which, in addition to distributing gas, would also have the power to decide at any time whether gas would be supplied to Bosniaks or not - says Muhasilović.

That is why it is good, he assesses, that the Americans got involved in this whole story and stopped it.

- However, several things are devastating to me - this gas comes from Croatia and we are again, in a sense, dependent on Croatia. But this is an excellent opportunity, not like in the past, to rush to sign as soon as possible, without considering the protection of our interests.

There are opportunities and needs for this, so during this agreement, we should mention numerous other things to Croatia, such as Trgovska gora, the theft of water from Buško Lake, the theft of electricity, the violation of various agreements, and the constant undermining of BiH's sovereignty through HDZ BiH.

So, these are just some of the topics that should be mentioned to Croatia. Of course, this means that our negotiation team must have a clear stance that protects the national interests of BiH.

Perhaps one of the issues that should also be mentioned is the border agreement that we signed back in 1999 when Franjo Tuđman was still alive. The BiH Parliament ratified it, I think the following year, but Croatia never did.

This could be an opportunity for that as well, if Croatia is interested, and it is, for the South Interconnection to enter BiH - stated Muhasilović, adding that in these negotiations, one should also be aware of the American interests in this business, and that BiH no longer has the right to sign any agreements that do not include and protect its interests.
