Muhasilović: Burns' visit to BiH is incidental, as is the warning to Dodik, the real goal is to save the Trojka and Vučić

(Patria) - The primary reason for the visit of the Director of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William J. Burns, to the Western Balkans is not Bosnia and Herzegovina, but saving the Trojka and the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

This was stated in an interview with the Patria News Agency by the professor of international relations at the International University in Sarajevo and one of the founders of the Association "Guardians of Bosnia" Jahja Muhasilović.

Muhasilović says that there are many reasons for Burns' visit to the countries of the region, but that the primary reason was certainly not Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I think it is, after all, saving Aleksandar Vučić, given that there are currently protests in Serbia due to the fact that they gave lithium to Rio Tinto, but also due to the growing satisfaction that has somewhat consolidated the opposition there - points out Muhasilović.

On his way to Serbia, adds our interlocutor, Burns certainly decided to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina incidentally, and there are several reasons for that.

- The first is certainly the consolidation of the Trojka, given that the US actively stands behind the formation of this coalition. I think that with Burns' visit, they wanted to send a signal that they still stand behind this political leadership, considering that they actively supported its formation, and also to improve the negative image of the Trojka.

The second reason is the Americans' desire to send a message to the so-called malignant influences of Russia and China and to show once again that they consider the Western Balkans their sphere of interest.

And the third reason, although I think it is the least important, is Dodik's threats of secession. We saw that he changed, or rather softened his rhetoric after Burns' arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They probably wanted to tell him not to enter into any political or geopolitical adventures and to send him a signal that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the entire Western Balkans, belong to the Western sphere of influence and that his dealings with the Chinese, Russians, and other non-Western actors are being carefully monitored in Washington - concludes Muhasilović in an interview with NAP.
