Muhamed's mother wants to stay in Berlin beside her child's grave

The body of little Muhamed was found in the trunk of a car in Berlin. His killer Silvio S. has pleaded guilty. Muhamed's mother sees her future only in Germany, near the grave of the murdered child, reports the Patria news agency.

A. J. has not yet seen Muhamed's body. She says the police only informed her that Muhamed was killed. She expects to see him on Tuesday, and the funeral prayer will be held in Berlin, most likely on Thursday.

-I went to collect welfare and then my child disappeared. From half past eleven to two I searched for the child. I searched and searched and reported to the police that he was missing. And now look what happened to me. They said they would find him alive and, by God, they didn't find him.

On the day of the abduction, she asked that the mother-in-law of her new common-law husband come and watch the children at the refugee home where they stay, but the visit was not approved. 

Wants to stay in Germany

-I asked that my husband's mother-in-law come for one day to stay with me and watch my child. But the 'hajam' (refugee centre) did not give me permission, so I took the child with me and that's how I lost my child.

She has been in Germany for approximately three years and can stay here for another month, but she says she will ask the authorities to remain in Germany. She has never worked and has lived on social welfare.

-They killed my child here in Germany, I want to have my right to be here. I would like to be here for my child, to go to the cemetery constantly, they must give me asylum here.

The twenty-eight-year-old A. J. looks at a picture of her son and says:

-I bought Muhamed a new Bayram suit and that is the last picture of him, which is now in front of the book of condolences that everyone is signing.

From the moment the search for her murdered son began, everyone helped her.

-There were journalists, television crews, one gave me a hundred euros, and in total they gave me 250 euros, and I didn't have much money, says the mother of the murdered Muhamed for DW.

A. J.'s daughter no longer goes to school

She sees the future of her nine-year-old daughter and six-month-old son in Germany. Her daughter attends the second grade of primary school, but as she tells us, she no longer lets her go to school.

-My daughter went crazy when she heard that her brother died. Now I won't let her go anywhere, because I don't want the same thing to happen to me with this child. I don't want to let her go to school, says A. J. for DW.

Muhamed's father lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but A. J. is not in contact with him. Now she wants to bury her child according to religious customs and wants to sue the killer.

-I want to sue him, so that he is imprisoned for the rest of his life. They killed my child here in Germany, I want to have my right to be here, she says.

With the hope of staying in Germany, A. J. says at the end of the interview for DW:

-I haven't done anything to anyone. Why, what is the reason?
