MS&WOOD holds Open Day: Student works attract the most attention

FOJNICA, (Patria) - Bosnian manufacturer of high-quality designer furniture MS&WOOD held its Open Day at its factory in Fojnica again this year. Along with students from the Fojnica Secondary Technical School, this year MS&WOOD was also visited by graduates of the “Kiseljak 1” Primary School, and the Mayor of Fojnica, Sabahudin Klisura, was also present.

The Open Day is part of the MS&WOOD College program, which for several years has provided an opportunity to acquire practical and theoretical knowledge in this company, both for secondary school students and for the purpose of retraining and advancement of already employed workers, the company stated in a press release.

Additionally, the best works of students from all four grades of the Secondary Technical School in Fojnica, who are doing internships at MS&WOOD, were announced. From each class, three best students were selected and received cash prizes from the company. Likewise, awards were given to five students with the best academic performance from each class. After the ceremonial part of the program, a tour of the factory and the College, where student works were displayed, was organized.

- The student works attracted the most attention from visitors. The reactions of visitors and students were very positive. A group of our graduates from the Secondary School in Fojnica has already submitted job applications, even though they have not yet received their diplomas. The student works show the seriousness of what they learned during their schooling and internship at the factory. We are also recording very positive reactions from our neighboring municipality of Kiseljak. During the Open Day, the importance of education in line with the needs of the economy and the local community was emphasized - said Mirsada Softić, human resources manager at MS&WOOD.

The manufacturer of high-quality designer furniture MS&WOOD employs 400 workers. The furniture collections of MS&WOOD have so far received prestigious awards such as the German Design Award, as well as four Iconic Awards - prominent awards from the German Design Council, and the most interesting parts of the collections have been exhibited as exhibits at the Milan Triennale.
