Ms&Wood continues to provide scholarships to all students of the Woodworking School in Fojnica

FOJNICA, (Patria) - Bosnian furniture manufacturer Ms&Wood from Fojnica continues to provide scholarships to all students of the Secondary Woodworking School in this town. In addition to scholarships, the company will also provide conditions for regular internships, as well as paid, i.e., holiday internships in the factory for the next school year 2019/2020. Meals will be provided for all students, as well as the procurement of books and school supplies for students from poorer backgrounds. Advanced students can expect further scholarships at universities, and visits to international fairs are also organized. After their education, all of them are guaranteed employment and the opportunity for advancement in one of the leading furniture industries in the region.

“We invite primary school graduates and their parents to enroll their children in schools with production-oriented vocations. Our only chance lies in production, industrial development, and creating new value. In that sense, our bright future can also be in the wood industry as a leading economic sector in the country. As a company, we will do everything in our power to stop the departure, especially of young people; the ball is now in the court of others,” said Muhamed Pilav, owner and director of Ms&Wood.

Pilav emphasizes that the efforts the company invests in youth education and the promotion of work and knowledge are met with significant response. In the last few years, and especially recently, the factory in Fojnica has been visited by hundreds of students, pupils, and children from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from abroad.

“This winter, we had a visit from a Swedish and a Sarajevo secondary school. In April, we were visited by students and professors from the Secondary Technical School in Zavidovići. Visits from students of the Ilidža Technical School and others are planned. Now we have great interest from primary schools as well. Last week, the factory was visited by about 100 students from the 'Muhsin Rizvić' Primary School in Fojnica. The teaching staff wants to show students examples of everything they learn in class, and we are pleased that they chose our factory for that. Although these are 3rd and 4th grade students, they had a lot of questions and were delighted to see how furniture is made,” said Mirsada Softić, HR manager at Ms&Wood.
 
“Our doors are wide open for all young people who want to learn more about furniture production. It is always a pleasure for us to tell young people our story and show them that knowledge and effort always find their way to success,” the company states.

Ms&Wood is the winner of the German Chamber of Foreign Trade - AHK award for vocational education, taking first place in the competition in the field of dual education for the school year 2018/2019, which was conducted under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Ms&Wood produces high-quality designer furniture. It currently employs around 400 workers. The furniture collections of Ms&Wood have received prestigious awards from the German Design Award - German Council for Design, and the most interesting parts of the collections are exhibited as exhibits at the Milan Triennale. The company exports furniture to more than 40 countries worldwide across four continents.
