Dead baby found on apartment terrace, mother cut her veins

A dead baby, about eight months old, was found on the terrace of an apartment in Južni Bulevar, Vračar, Belgrade, the MUP Information Service told Tanjug, reports the Patria news agency.

The baby was found last night around 6 p.m., and the mother (37) of the baby was transported to the Military Medical Academy, the MUP Information Service stated.

Belgrade electronic media report that the mother cut her veins in the room and was found in serious condition. The police entered the apartment because the baby's mother was not answering calls from worried family members. Emergency medical personnel immediately treated the woman, while the baby's body was taken for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
