Mostar ready for spectacle on the Old Bridge

In Mostar, everything is in the spirit of the upcoming Red Bull Cliff Diving World Championship competition, reports the Patria agency.

Preparations are complete, the divers have arrived, and now the minutes are counting down to the spectacle on the Old Bridge, which begins at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 16.

Mostar is slowly being gripped by cliff diving fever. The competition is being talked about everywhere - in cafes and on the streets, as well as on social media. Demand for accommodation this weekend has significantly increased, and a large number of spectators from other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina are expected to arrive.

The world's best male and female divers have already made their first jumps and had an encounter with the Neretva River, whose strong current and cold water make the Old Bridge one of the most challenging locations in the championship.

After training, the divers spoke about their expectations for the competition in Mostar.

- I am very excited to be back here in Mostar, where diving is such an important part of the culture. This year I am fighting for the title, and a good performance here could seal it - says current champion Rhiannan Iffland.

The men's championship has never been more uncertain. Mostar is the penultimate stop of the season, and the outcome of this competition could decide who will take the champion's crown.

- I hope it will be me, but we'll see what happens - says Blake Aldridge, the leader in the championship.

- The fight for the title has never been this close - believes current champion Gary Hunt.

The hero of the people of Mostar, Orlando Duque, will try to achieve a good result on his 'home turf' and return to the title race.

- It won't be easy, everyone is diving very well, but I think I have a chance. Nothing is over until the last jump is performed - said Duque.

The tradition of the championship dictates that the divers draw their starting positions before the competition. In Mostar, they were assisted in this by the talented magician from Mostar, Danijel Rakić, and they will showcase their magic on Saturday on the Old Bridge.

The popular hip-hop duo Helem Nejse has also arrived in the city on the Neretva. In their characteristic style, they invited spectators to the competition on Saturday and announced their performance in the evening of the same day on the square in front of the Marshall cafe in the heart of the Old Town, where they will be joined by rapper Frenkie from Tuzla.
