Mostar, Sarajevo, Banja Luka: Čović's favourite places for agreements on state organisation, after all, restaurants

At today's press conference held in Mostar, member of the BiH Presidency and HDZ BiH leader Dragan Čović said that he „did not know at all that he was supposed to meet with the Chairman of the BiH Presidency and SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović in Konjica“.

Also, he added that he would not dream of meeting in taverns next to BiH institutions, writes the Patria news agency.

Media teams that were in front of the restaurant „Orahovica“ on Tuesday evening witnessed phone conversations of several journalists with Tonko Barišić, Čović's associate, who, when asked about the meeting, said she was not sure about the place and time where it would be held, while confirming that it was indeed agreed upon but that she did not know the details.

Let us remind Čović, who is trying to portray himself as a victim, that in the last year alone, he was the initiator of meetings in taverns (and he gladly responded to calls from other politicians) where important topics for the state were discussed, after which coalitions and some other important documents were signed.

Although he now tries to act as a serious and principled leader who, following European standards, conducts politics exclusively in institutions, he has not strayed far from the long-standing habits of politicians in BiH, to lead and organise the state from exclusive catering establishments.

In June 2015, Čović and SBB leader Fahrudin Radončić met and officially talked in the Sarajevo restaurant „Četiri sobe gospođe Safije“.

It was a time when the first man of HDZ BiH, after kicking the Democratic Front out of power, launched a political offensive to bring SBB into power, and then brought Radončić and Izetbegović to the tavern table, who signed a coalition in October last year.

In August 2015, Čović organised a working lunch in the Mostar restaurant „Romanca“, where he „exchanged information on the political situation in the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska“ with the President of RS and SNSD.

Just a day or two later, Čović held a meeting with SBB leader Fahrudin Radončić in the same restaurant. They discussed the entry of SBB into the executive power at the level of FBiH and the state.

In February 2016, a meeting between Čović and Dodik. Topic: the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, strategy on how to destroy them. Everything was agreed upon over a rich table at the restaurant „Kaldera“ in Laktaši. 

In April this year, Čović and Dodik held part of an official meeting in the Palace of RS, after which they moved to the terrace of the Hotel Palas, where they continued serious political talks in a pleasant atmosphere.
