Moreno: Assange used Ecuador's embassy as a spying center

(Patria) - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange violated asylum rules on several occasions and attempted to use Ecuador's embassy in London for spying purposes, stated Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno to the British Guardian.

The newspaper states that Assange jeopardized his stay at the embassy after Ecuadorian representatives accused him of leaking information about Moreno's private life.

President Moreno denied allegations that revoking Assange's asylum was revenge for the leak of personal information. He stated that he regrets that Assange used the embassy to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

Responding to The Guardian's questions via email, Moreno emphasized that 'we cannot allow our house, which opened its doors to him, to become a spying center,' agencies report.
