Moore: I call on citizens to exercise their democratic right and vote in the elections

Ahead of the local elections to be held in BiH on October 2nd, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jonathan Moore, called on all eligible voters to exercise their democratic right and duty and vote in the local elections, reports Patria News Agency.

- Mayors and city mayors, as well as members of municipal/municipal and city councils and assemblies have very important responsibilities. Throughout BiH, we have had the opportunity to see how smart, energetic, and dedicated local officials bring about positive changes and prosperity for all.

They live and work with their fellow citizens every day and deal with practical problems and challenges. Voters should choose candidates who are most capable of bringing the values, interests, and needs of their cities and municipalities into their work.

In accordance with our mandate, the Mission will monitor the situation throughout the country. Citizens who have objections to the conduct of the elections should contact the Central Election Commission, municipal/city election commissions, and the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH. Citizens can also contact organizations such as the Coalition "Under the Magnifying Glass", which brings together 3,000 independent observers in these elections, and we call for fair cooperation with them.
